Turner offers a dual educational program from Kindergarten to Year 6 which caters for substantial numbers of mainstream students and students with disabilities, working together productively in an inclusive setting.
At Turner differences are valued and we view them as challenges, not barriers. We involve our students in giving, sharing and receiving so we can all support each other and make the most of the opportunities offered. The Turner community has identified a set of values that underpin policies procedures and practice. These are called our SCARFF Principles (Support, Cooperation, Acceptance, Respect Friendliness and Fun) and are explicitly taught in all classrooms.
We aim to develop happy, confident, competent, thinking students. Emphasis is placed on acquiring effective literacy skills, sound mathematical concepts and ability in using a variety of learning processes. We assist students to seek solutions to problems, form friendships, develop a sense of individual responsibility and show an enjoyment of life.
